A few people have asked,
“Why do you blog, what’s the point of it?”
The answer is pretty simple really…because I want to. The point? 🤷♀️ I dunno – because it feels kinda satisfying?!
Just like people want to go out for a jog or watch a movie – sometimes I just get a feeling like I want to write some shit down.
How do I pick what I’m going to write about?
Well, I’m full of good intentions…and it just about stops there! I wish I was more organised and planned what I was going to write about…but I don’t. I write about whatever I feel like writing about at the time.
Having a look back over my older posts I don’t think they are too heavy going…I’m no Erin Brockovich so I wouldn’t expect anything too clever or ground-breaking but I do spend a fair amount of time looking into things. If something interests me then I tend to go a little OCD about it and then proceed to bore everyone to tears (especially my husband!)
Does anyone read my blog?
I guess they do – since going live I have had just over 2000 visits. I’ve posted 32 times – which I don’t think is very many posts – and haven’t pushed it too much on social media so I don’t think those stats are that bad.
I could spend a lot more of my time SEO’ing the crap out of my website and researching the best keywords and I’m sure I’d get a lot more visits – but I find life is a balance – if it tips over into the “this is shit” side of things then you can count me out.
I’d love to hear from other new bloggers to see what their stats are…anyone?
Am I blogging to make money?
Nope. At the moment my goal isn’t money – it’s doing stuff I love – so my aim is to find my grove, figure out what I most like writing about and take it from there. I have a full-time job working for myself. My husband and I work together on Jaypeg. This takes up most of my time and I really enjoy it. I take photos, I build websites, I design logos and I have a great workspace. I set my own hours and I have a super casual dress code! Yay!
I hope this answers your questions – if you have any more please let me know.
Kind regards, Livvy
